Ressources Haïtiennes de Sudbury is a cultural association dedicated to helping newcomers in the Haitian community and promoting culture. The association organizes the annual Cultural Gala for Sudbury’s Haitian community, to celebrate the community and promote networking.
The Association des Ivoiriennes et Ivoiriens du Grand Sudbury (AIGS) is a cultural association dedicated to bringing together and supporting the Ivorians of Greater Sudbury. Every year, they organize numerous activities to welcome, network and celebrate, including the Welcome Ceremony for newcomers.
L’Association des étudiants francophones de l’université Laurentienne offers services in French, organizes activities for francophones and ensures the well-being of its members. Founded in 1974, it is the only association that uniquely represents the interests of francophones at the university.
The mission of the Laurentian University African and Caribbean Student Association (LUACSA) is to promote exchanges and cultural awareness between African and Caribbean students in the Greater Sudbury area. LUACSA organizes events and educational activities, providing students and the Sudbury community with opportunities to discover and celebrate diverse African and Caribbean cultures.
Collège Boréal students have come together to create the Association générale des étudiantes et des étudiants (AGEE), which represents the entire Collège Boréal student community. The AGEE offers a variety of socio-cultural activities, free or at a reduced price, to help students discover cultural diversity and develop an interest in francophone culture.

SÉO was founded over twenty years ago as RDÉE Ontario. Today, the organization is a key player in the economic development of Ontario’s francophone and bilingual ecosystem. It contributes, among other things, by fostering the emergence of new businesses and supporting the growth of existing ones, helping Francophone and bilingual newcomers find quality jobs, supporting employers in their recruitment efforts, and contributing to the economic strengthening of communities through a series of initiatives and programs. SÉO employs some forty people across the province. SÉO is part of RDÉE Canada, a national network.

GOVA, formerly known as Greater Sudbury Transit, is a public transit authority responsible for serving bus routes in Greater Sudbury and area. The network is the largest in Northern Ontario, with 25 routes operating between 5:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.

Chansons en récoltes is an immersion into the rich universe of Monsieur André and double bassist François Lefèbvre. The two musicians sow good cheer with songs unearthed from a time when the land and its inhabitants were in everyone’s heart. In a festive atmosphere, Monsieur André and his long-time accomplice revive the conviviality and humor of the beautiful songs of the French-Canadian oral tradition, while also offering a few original songs.

An overview of Sudbury’s history through texts published in French and places evoked and recounted in literature. It’s participatory. We carry books and read excerpts. We’re focusing on the history of the cultural milieu and French Canadians in Nouvel-Ontario, and the marks of the industrial past. The tour is designed as a journey with “stations”. It begins at the Librairie Panache in Place des Arts and ends at the same location, where some of the books on the tour will be on sale.

Robotics, Lego, animated models and engineering challenges are fascinating! With the help of Jazz Mathon, our passionate design expert, kids will have the chance to create projects on their own or in teams. Who knows what they’ll build! There are so many possibilities!
Note that there will also be access to dressing rooms for mothers and their babies who want to take a rest or need a space to breastfeed.
Welcoming Ceremony with Patricia Cano
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The day wraps up in La Grande Salle for the Welcome Ceremony, warmly led by Peruvian-Canadian actress and singer-songwriter Patricia Cano!
A native of Sudbury, Patricia is well known for her voice and acting across the country, the recipient of several NOMFA awards, as well as a long career with theatre companies in the province and an international Cree cabaret tour.
During the ceremony, Place des Arts and municipal representatives will take the stage to welcome and thank our newest members to our diverse francophone community.
