We Are happy to share with you the artists who will be with your children at the outdoor camps, and the workshops they will be offering:
Ali Rodriguez: Magali Alanis Rodriguez Beaudoin is a Mexican artist who grew up in Sudbury, Ontario. She will lead photography workshops using various printmaking techniques and incorporating video elements.
David Lesbarrères and Noah Loiselle: The Ecoscience Camp aims to raise children’s awareness of the beauty, diversity and complexity of the natural world around us, with its ecosystems, plants and animals. They will gently lead children to understand the interactions between different organisms. Children will realize why it’s important to protect nature. They will also create a totem pole inspired by the week’s activities.
Jérémy : Scuba diver, welder and jack-of-all-trades, Jérémy is good with his hands! He’s a real jack-of-all-trades. Now assistant to the general and cultural director of Carrefour francophone, he joins the summer camps to lead a construction workshop with the children. Wood, nails, hammers and other tools: get ready for a session rich in discovery, creation and collaboration!
Joele Clark and Jessica Talbot: For over 15 years, Joele has worked passionately with children to strengthen their connection with nature and pass on age-old skills. For 8 years, she created and ran a nature daycare centre, training generations of children in a sensitive and immersive educational approach. Jessica Talbot, who grew up in the city, discovered the regenerative power of nature at an early age, thanks to five teenage years spent in the scouts and an outdoor club. She left Montreal to pursue her passion by studying forest management in Rimouski, then natural environment techniques in Saint-Félicien. Clan Renard Camp’s mission is clear: to reconnect young and old alike with nature, awaken their sensibilities, nurture their community spirit and impart essential practical and emotional skills.
Michel Laforge: For the past ten years, Michel Laforge has been making a living with sound in the theatre, as a musician and on the radio. Are your children interested in music? Michel will lead sound exploration and music workshops with many intriguing and fun instruments!
Monsieur André: A seasoned entertainer and outstanding performer, Monsieur André revives the conviviality of the beautiful songs of the French-Canadian oral tradition. His workshops promise lively songs to stretch, sing and dance to, in a festive whirlwind of fun and laughter.
Nicole Vandenbogaard: Musician and teacher, Nicole Vandenbogaard is a singer and musician with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra. She will be offering early-learning, introductory and exploratory musical workshops to all junior camp groups!
Pandora Topp: An artist-educator, Pandora Topp has received extensive training in art pedagogy and psychopedagogy. She will lead workshops in artistic expression through puppet play and physical expression. She will also take us on a clowning adventure.
Patrick Breton: Patrick Breton is an experienced Scout from the Sudbury district, with a passion for living in nature and passing on practical knowledge to young people. With years of involvement in Scout camps and activities, he leads dynamic workshops where children discover resourcefulness techniques, learn first aid, compass orientation, archery, leatherwork and many other essential skills. His rigorous yet friendly approach to teaching makes him a popular mentor for young scouts.
Stef Paquette: Stef Paquette has over 25 years’ experience in the arts. A Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter, he is also known as a radio host on Un p’tit brin Loup-Foque and as an actor in TV series such as Hard Rock Medical and Les Bleus de Ramville. A true showman with a sometimes wry sense of humor, Stef Paquette loves the stage as much as he loves his audience. This summer, he’ll be sharing his passion for the media by hosting a podcast camp, where he will help children create their own podcasts. And do you know what else? He’s also a world champion in cornhole. He will be offering cornhole activities at camp too!
