The end of another successful season of summer camp!

We were delighted to welcome your children to the Carrefour francophone summer camps this year.

They lived an enriching experience, rich in humor, encounters and art!

Let's take a trip down memory lane!

This year, the possibilities were endless! The children used their creativity and potential without limits!

Learning magic with Philippe Thériault, making puppets from scratch with Pandora Topp, discovering music and instruments with Nicole Glover, and plenty of other activities to develop their knowledge and experience.

Each artist was on site to share their knowledge, while allowing free rein to creativity, and all this in a joyful, good-humored and laughter-filled atmosphere! And in French, of course!

Let’s discover their adventures!

Puppet creation

Pandora Topp, artist-educator, showed everyone how to make puppets in their own image. The children were very proud of their work and delighted with the activities.

Dancing in the open air

Pierre-André Muila, dance teacher, choreographer and summer camp artist, took all the children and animators with him for sessions of music, dance and swaying.

The creativity behind collages and crafts

Carrefour francophone’s animators prepared lots of surprises for us! The children had the chance to create, craft, collage and make lots of works of art to take home!

Becoming versatile artists through theatre

After two weeks of theatrical exploration, creating puppets, set design, learning shadow theatre, lighting and rehearsals, our budding actors created and performed a play for their parents on a professional stage!

Theatre camp was presented in collaboration with Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario:

The Carrefour Francophone and Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario team would like to thank Le Club Richelieu de Sudbury for their generous donation and support!
We are very touched and grateful for your involvement!

Having fun through dance

The Tara Luz Danse company came all the way from Ottawa to share their secrets of dance, creativity and imagination with our young dancers.

The children also had the chance to show off their skills to their parents in a performance, and take home their very own professional photos to add to their portfolios! We discovered their choreography and their great energy on stage!

Diving into the world of Legos

With the support of Lego camp animator Jazz Mathon, the children spent time building and dismantling hundreds of Lego pieces. They were given challenges throughout the week to test their Lego building skills and put their prototypes to the test. They even got to take some of their constructions home with them!

Music and sound production

Michel Laforge, musician and summer camp artist, shared his passion for sound with the children. Michel had the opportunity to teach them how to produce and record sound with his console. A few rules were put in place to produce THE perfect music, but only two are important: making sounds and having fun!

Who doesn't love magic?

Summer camp performer and magician Philippe Thériault shared his best tricks and secrets with the kids! Now you have real magicians in your home.

Illusion or magic, can you tell the difference?

Dyeing with natural resources

Professional photographer Ali Rodriguez shared her passion for photography with curious summer campers. The children learned how to create large artwork using nature salvage, their hands and feet, as well as magic paint, before letting the sun capture their creation. After waiting 20 minutes, they poured buckets of water onto the canvas to reveal their prints, which had been printed onto the paper.

Artisan and craftswoman Sophie Leblanc also offered workshops exploring natural materials to create artisanal dyes and fabrics using flowers and fruit. Fascinated by the vegetation around them, the children decided to create their own flower garden.

From tying knots to making a slingshot

Patrick Breton, an experienced scout, taught the children how to tie knots, and then challenged them to make a giant slingshot using only the natural resources shared with them. Dividing into two teams, they worked together for 45 minutes to build a functional slingshot and test their creations in front of a panel of judges! After summer camp with Patrick, the children became real scouts!

Learning to create songs

Nicole Glover, musician and coordinator of the Éveil musical project, brings her puppets and instruments to summer camps to demonstrate a unique and memorable experience in sound, musical vision, speech therapy and discovery!
