We’re delighted to have welcomed your children to the Carrefour francophone summer camps.
They had a wonderful experience rich in humor, encounters and art!
This year, the children could decide for themselves how their day would unfold!
A morning of photos with Madame Ali, a dance session with Monsieur Pierre-André Muila, or a day of rolling around in paint with Monsieur Nicholas Dupuis, the children were simply in charge of their own happiness according to their desires of the moment!
Each artist was on hand to share their know-how, while giving free rein to everyone’s creativity in a spirit of joy, good humor and laughter! And in French, of course!
Discover their adventures!
Pandora Topp, artist-educator, showed everyone how to make puppets in their own image. The children were very proud of their work and delighted with this activity.
Pierre-André Muila, dance teacher, choreographer and summer camp artist, took all the children and animators with him for sessions of music, dance and swaying.
In the presence of Chloé Thériault, comedian, author, humorist and singer, the children discovered the world of the stage and show business through dynamic and fun workshops.
Craftswoman, Sophie Leblanc offered workshops to explore natural materials and create artisanal dyes and fabrics using flowers and fruits. Fascinated by the vegetation around them, the children also decided to create their own flower garden.
Céline Kerampran, outdoor education advisor at the Carrefour francophone, is a true nature explorer! Thanks to Céline’s guidance, summer camp participants are ready to venture into the great outdoors and build their own camping tent.
After 13 days of theatrical exploration, writing, design, set design, lighting and rehearsals, our new actors created and performed a real play for their parents on a professional stage!
The Theatre Camp was presented in collaboration with :
The Tara Luz Danse company came all the way from Ottawa to share their secrets of dance, creativity and imagination with our young dancers.
The children also had the chance to show off their skills to their parents in a performance.
We discovered their choreography, their great energy and their spirit of teamwork and sharing.
A big thank you to our dance camp sponsor :
Your children spent a wonderful week building and dismantling hundreds of Lego pieces, with the help of Lego Camp animator Jazz Mathon.
The children also enjoyed surprise gifts following their wonderful achievements!
Well done to all!
Chris Thériault and Francis Tousignant, acrobats, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers, jugglers and trapeze artists, held circus workshops with our young participants.
The only rule? Have fun without limits and without losing your balance!
Michel Laforge, musician and summer camp artist, shared his passion of music with the kids.
A few rules are put in place to produce THE perfect music, but only two are important: make sounds and have fun!!!
* The story of the photo: the children impressed Michel Laforge with their creativity and music. **
Nicholas Dupuis, multidisciplinary visual artist, has been making gigantic art with children.
How did he do it? By wrapping all the children in bubble wrap, covering them in paint and rolling them endlessly on giant sheets of paper, of course!
Summer camp performer and magician Philippe Thériault shared his best tricks and secrets with the kids!
Now you have real magicians in your home.
Illusion or magic, can you tell the difference?
Ms. Ali, a professional photographer, shared her passion with the curious summer campers. They learned how to make a cyanotype, which enables them to print blue photos, take photos in the dark and even print flowers on a pot.
Patrick Breton, an experienced scout, taught the children how to tie knots, write their names in Morse code and then finished off with games of balloon chase and giant rock-paper-scissors.
To celebrate the end of the summer camps, Nicholas Dupuis and Sophie Leblanc organized an Exposition idéale from August 31 to September 6 in the Zone at Place des Arts, using art created by the children over the summer.
Each participant was invited to come, rediscover their work and share it with their families.
The children were amazed by the art all around them!
Here are just a few of the phrases we heard:
« Marie, pourquoi c’est beau ? » Florian
« Ça, c’est beau Maman » Milo
« Moi j’aime lui, c’est un cœur et c’est beau » Olivia « Oh c’est beau ! » Charlie
« Moi j’aime ça l’exposition » Florian
« C’est très beau » Milo
Well done everyone!
