Carrefour francophone summer camps are also an artistic adventure! Children develop a host of creative and artistic skills, guided and inspired by passionate local artists.

Patrick Breton, an experienced Scout from Sudbury, passionately shares his knowledge of outdoor living through dynamic workshops. At Scout camp, children learn survival skills, first aid, orienteering, archery, leather working, and other essential skills in an atmosphere that is both rigorous and friendly.
Pierre-André Muila, a teacher and passionate dancer, founder of the group Bigmoves, shares his energy through Afro and hip-hop dance workshops. In a positive and motivating environment, children discover rhythms and movements, develop their coordination, creativity, and confidence, all while having fun. The goal is to move, laugh, and learn in an inclusive and energetic atmosphere!
Monsieur André (André Thériault), a singer-songwriter and seasoned entertainer, has been touring Canada for over 20 years with his shows featuring traditional French-language songs. Through music, humor, and active participation, he gets children singing, dancing, and laughing in a festive, intergenerational atmosphere, highlighting the richness of Canada’s oral tradition.
Alexandre Matte, a storyteller and educator from Sudbury, leads interactive workshops where children create stories using idea cards and dice. In a playful atmosphere tailored to their pace, they invent characters and situations—sometimes absurd or funny—and explore different ways of storytelling. Younger children participate by suggesting ideas and reacting, while older children can improvise their own stories, thereby developing their imagination, oral expression, and the joy of creating together.
France Huot, a theatre artist based in N’Swakamok (Sudbury), is an actor, creator, and arts educator. In her crankie workshop, children are invited to draw and tell a story using a small cardboard device that scrolls through the images. Each participant creates, assembles, and takes home their own box, all while exploring imagination, drawing, and the joy of storytelling in a different way.
Jérémy Lambert, Assistant executive and Cultural Director at the Carrefour francophone, leads construction workshops during summer camps. Using wood, nails, hammers, and various materials, children learn to use basic tools, create, and collaborate as a team. Each project becomes an adventure rich in discovery, creativity, and teamwork.
Pandora Topp, an artist-educator trained in art education and educational psychology, will lead the clown camp, an introduction to the performing arts. She will also lead an impromptu activity!

This year, we will once again be offering artistic camps! These camps give children the opportunity to explore a specialized field with expert artists! Please note that these camps are shorter in duration, lasting one or two weeks. This year’s artistic camps will be:

The Grand Camp de Théâtre, presented in collaboration with Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario, is back! This two-week summer day camp offers theatre training for children. The camp allows them to develop their creativity and imagination and learn more about the performing arts. They will also have the opportunity to work with theatre professionals who will share their passion and expertise!
There will be 4 places available for adolescents from 8th to 12th grade who would like to take on the role of apprentice. They will have the chance to support the artists in leading warm-up sessions, act as “captain” to the children’s groups, help them rehearse and, depending on their interests, act as team leader for one of the show’s creative aspects (set, costumes, props, lighting, sound environment, acting). Captains will be able to sign up for volunteer hours. Children love to move, and dance transforms their energy into creativity. Through play and movement, they will explore physical expression and have fun incorporating sounds into their choreography. Accompanied by dance professionals from the Tara Luz Dance company, they will create a unique show together to proudly present at the end of camp!

From robotics to animated models, creativity reigns supreme! With the expertise of Jazz Mathon, a design enthusiast, children will bring their ideas to life by building unique projects, either alone or in teams. Who knows what incredible inventions will be created?

As accredited centres, we follow the recommendations and policies of the Department of Education, as well as Public health regulations.
