July 3rd 2020

Dear families,

Thank you for your patience. We are making good progress in the planning required to reopen our Early Childhood Learning Centres. In fact, we’re getting there!

We are happy to share with you our tentative horizon. We wish to begin progressively reopening our 10 child care centres starting on Monday, July 20, 2020. But there are still a few more things that need to happen for us to get there.

Our plans must be examined and approved by the relevant authorities. We follow the instructions provided by the Government of Ontario, Public Health Sudbury and Districts, the City of Greater Sudbury and the Ministry of Education.

For each of our Early Learning Centres, the specifics are different. Therefore, the opening dates will be staggered. We will send you a detailed schedule in the near future.

Our staff members are hard at work preparing safe environments and adapting our educational programming to the new public health realities. Our mission remains the same: to offer a safe service in a quality educational setting.

COVID-19 propagation rates across the province could affect our plans. Therefore, a degree of uncertainty is unavoidable.

We’re not alone in our quest. We are working in collaboration with many stakeholders to ensure a rationalized reopening across the child care services sector. All child care centres in our area are establishing similar measures and schedules.

Please note that the sector has set out a list of criteria to determine which families get priority access to child care services. We are following those recommendations. Your child care centre’s supervisor will be contacting you by phone to reconfirm your family’s needs, as per the information you have already provided to us in the past weeks.

If you wish to discuss your family’s situation, please feel free to contact your child care centre’s supervisor. We will do our best to find solutions together.

We are anxious to get back to serving our families and welcoming children to our centres. At last, that happy day is on the horizon! Again, we sincerely thank you for your patience!
