Our mini-camps for children aged 4 and 5 are offered at the same location as our camps for children aged 6 to 12. The younger kids take part in some of the same activities, according to their abilities. It’s their opportunity to have their introductory contact with our summer camps.
Under the leadership of our qualified camp facilitators, our mini-camps apply the principles of Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years ―exploration, discovery, play and curiosity ― to child development in the following areas:
Self-expression: Using body, language and manipulatives, children learn to communicate and solve problems, through activities based on theatre, visual arts, dance, percussion and magic.
Belonging: Having a sense of belonging means feeling appreciated, forming relationships and contributing to a group, through activities based on French-Canadian folklore, scouting and team games.
Well-being: Well-being stems from physical and mental health and fosters self-care, self- control and a sense of identity, through activities based on food preparation, sports and leadership challenges.
Engagement: Engagement is the ability to participate, to concentrate and to create, through activities based on architecture, visual arts and eco-science.
