A new formula for more freedom!

The summer of ’22 will memorable for lucky kids who get to spend time at a Carrefour summer camp! Every day, they will get to decide something very important: “How do you want to have fun today?”

Here are the changes for this summer:

1. Our series of camps isn’t designed around a schedule of weekly themes. Instead, each camp is based on free play and exploration in all sorts of directions at once!
2. We won’t have as many different locations as in the past. That means we can sometimes bring together larger groups of kids and create a big summer festival atmosphere!
3. Each camp will offer several activity centres all at once, with many new additions from one week to the next. Kids will get to choose what they like best in a menu of options for their morning and afternoon fun.
4. Every camp will include larger festive gatherings, in addition to smaller group activities. The smaller groups are as follows: juniors, aged 5 to 9 and seniors, aged 10 to 12.

And this summer, as always, our camp leaders are skilled artists and experts who know how to get kids into it!

So, what you won’t see this year is our usual eight-week list of camp themes. This summer, every week and every day of camp will be a different experience!

In fact, there will be just one camp with a specific theme this summer: that’s our theatre arts camp, “Le Grand Camp de théâtre.” It’s also the only camp that last two weeks.

Two locations to bring the children together

The Great Theatre Camp!

• From July 18 to 29, a two-week program;
• Kids create an entire play, performed on Friday, July 29 at 3 PM
• For children aged 6-12. Maximum 15 participants. 

Expect a standing ovation!

The end result of this two-week camp is a stunning accomplishment that always amazes parents. Their children have become actors in a high quality French theatre play! 

Guided by director Simon Landry, the youngsters take part in every step of a production: they develop the characters, memorize their lines, build the sets, design the promotional poster and… overcome stage fright! Come out and applaud your children as they perform their play on Friday, July 29. 

A much-anticipated yearly event since 2010, our summer theatre camp is back again this year, but for the first time ever, at Place des Arts! Carrefour francophone’s summer camp is presented in collaboration with Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario.
