WEEK 1 – MAGIC CAMP
With The Amazing René (René Lacoursière)
July 2 – 5
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $160
Perform magic tricks! Who says a magician should never reveal his tricks? René has secrets he will never tell, but he also knows lots of simple, yet fascinating tricks that children can master, like drawing a specific card from a deck and extracting a coin from someone’s ear. René helps children develop their dexterity and their skill at directing the viewer’s eye. He will also show them how to keep perfecting their magic skills through research and practice after the camp is over.
WEEK 2 – ARTS CAMP
With Rose-Anne Cardinal of the Sudbury Art Gallery
July 8 – 12
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $185
Come alive as an artist! Children will get to discover and develop their inner artist this summer in this camp presented in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Sudbury. Participants will have the opportunity to create inspiring works of art using a variety of professional art materials and themes. They will design and create magnificent artwork using various drawing, printmaking, sculpting, and painting techniques. It’s the ultimate arts camp experience!
WEEK 3 – COOKING CAMP
With Chef Jean and Chef Yves of Coop Boréal
July 15 – 19
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $185
Smack your lips! Food you prepare yourself tastes even better and is a lot more fun to eat! Through games and samples, children will learn to identify the five basic flavours, acidic and basic tastes, and learn to harmonize them. They will discover locally produced food with the Eat Local Coop. They will invent their very own dessert and will even prepare a full three-course meal themselves: appetizer, main course and dessert. This camp teaches kids to eat well to grow well!
WEEK 4 – SCIENCE CAMP

July 22 – 26
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $185
Perform scientific experiments! This is the ideal camp for the curious, hands-on type! Children will get to explore chemistry, physics, biology and engineering and they will demonstrate experiments in front of parents and friends. They will create optical illusions with lights and mirrors. They will solve a crime by studying clues. They will use tools to disassemble machines and see what’s inside. They will learn to build solid structures and to manipulate sound and vibrations. Science is cool!
WEEK 5 – ASTRONOMY CAMP
With Paul-Émile Legault, astronomer
July 29 – August 2
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration : $185
Explore other worlds! This camp uncovers mysteries that are light-years from Earth! Children will get to visit Laurentian’s planetarium and see the night sky, full of nebulae, galaxies and neutron stars, followed by the sunrise of our star, the Sun. They will see demonstrations of telescopes, holograms, rainbows created by refracted light. They will discover the planets of our solar system, the De Oort comet cloud, the asteroid belt, the De Kuiper Belt and more. They will even attempt to decipher an extraterrestrial message!
WEEK 6 – THEATRE CAMP
With Justine Gogoua and JUST’IN Arts Company
August 6 – 9
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $160
Be part of a fun celebration! African traditions are exciting for all children. In the drumming workshop, kids get to play different drums, understand their importance in African society and even build their own drum. In the dance workshop, they learn fun moves like the harvest dance and the children’s dance, with experienced dancers who share the rich feeling and meaning behind these simple steps. In the puppetry workshop, they learn how to turn old clothes and dolls into exciting new characters. As a grand finale, children will put on a traditional African performance for all to see!
WEEK 7 – WORLD TOUR ARTS CAMP

Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $185
Discover far-away lands! This camp uses the magic of arts to explore our planet. Through traditional artistic practices, children become familiar with the culture, history, geography and climate of many lands through their traditional arts. There will be Egyptian hieroglyphics, North American indigenous tales with leather stamping, African music with drums and percussions, Tibetan geometrical mandalas, Haitian Taino petroglyphs and more. This summer camp provides a trip around the world on the wings of art!
WEEK 8 – CIRCUS CAMP
With Francis Tousignant (SirKaFran), master of circus arts
August 19 – 23
Ages 4 to 12 – Registration: $185
Be a circus performer! SirKaFran invites children to a world full of concentration, perseverance, feats of skill and good times. Children will get to try all sorts of circus tricks, with balls, pins, rings, scarves, diabolo, flower sticks, Chinese plates and more! Their newly acquired talents will be put on display in a grand finale demonstration. With SirKaFran, alias Francis Tousignant, and his new colleague Christian Thériault, this summer camp is a like a whole week at the circus!
